Wishing Our Community a Restful and Rejuvenating Spring Break

Wishing our entire Soundview community a joyful and refreshing break! Enjoy your time off, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on campus on Monday, April 13!

Dear Soundview community,

Our Soundview Spring Benefit was a tremendous success, and I am truly grateful for the strength and spirit of this incredible community. A heartfelt thank you to the Soundview Board of Trustees, the Soundview Parent & Guardian Association (SPGA), Ryan Wasserman, Laura Higgins, and the Soundview Service Band, our dedicated faculty, staff, and childcare team, and all the families and friends who made the evening so special. Your generosity and support help ensure that Soundview continues to provide an ethical, rigorous, and compassionate education for our students.

As we wrap up a short but meaningful week and head to Spring Break, I hope you found conferences to be a reflective and engaging opportunity to discuss your student’s progress. It’s always inspiring to see the growth and achievements of our students, and we appreciate your partnership in their learning journey.

If you completed the survey in support of the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) accreditation process while on campus for conferences, thank you! If you haven’t yet, we want your feedback. The survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. Your voice is valued and important to this process!

A reminder to everyone that Soundview School and offices are closed for Spring Break next week, April 6-10. School resumes at its normal time on Monday, April 13.

On Wednesday, Grade 3/4 fit in one more exciting field trip before the break, venturing to the Hall Lake Salmon Hatchery in Lynnwood. During their visit, students participated in a nature and ecology walk, explored native plants, observed aquatic macroinvertebrates, and took part in a salmon release. It was a meaningful, hands-on learning experience that brought their studies to life.

One more thing…
On April 3, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his powerful “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech in Memphis, on the eve of his assassination. Speaking to striking sanitation workers and supporters, he reflected on the fight for civil rights, economic justice, and human dignity, sharing a moving vision of hope for the future even as he acknowledged he might not reach it himself. The speech became one of the most iconic in American history, symbolizing his courage and deep commitment to justice, and helping galvanize the civil rights movement for generations to come.
