  • April 7th is World Health Day (WHD) which is celebrated on this day every year to mark the anniversary of the founding of WHO in 1948. Each year, a theme is selected to highlight a priority area of public health concern in the world. This year's theme, ‘Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures’ centers around increasing our efforts to end preventable newborn and maternal deaths. Read more about this HERE.

  • April 10th is the National Day of Silence. This day, which is a student-led event, is a day of advocacy where LGBTQ+ students and allies take a vow of silence to protest the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ+ people, particularly in schools, and to raise awareness about the challenges they face. It’s a nationally-recognized demonstration where LGBTQ+ students and allies all around the country protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ+ people in schools.   • Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, is a solemn day commemorating the six million Jews murdered by Nazi Germany and its collaborators, as well as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Observed on the 27th of Nisan, in 2026 it begins at sundown on April 13 and continues until nightfall on April 14, marked by sirens, ceremonies, and school assemblies. Read more about this HERE.
