Learning Support at Soundview

At Soundview, every child benefits from an education that is rigorous, ethical, and compassionate. As a neuro-affirming school, we strive to create an environment where all students feel empowered, supported, and affirmed, recognizing that diversity, including neurodiversity, is essential to a thriving community. We value not only understanding the unique needs of neurodiverse students, but also celebrating the strengths and gifts they bring. These diverse perspectives enrich our classrooms, strengthen our community, and reflect our commitment to an inclusive, internationally minded education. To ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed, Soundview offers a range of support options tailored to meet individual learning needs.

Soundview develops individualized Student Support Plans for students with documented academic or health needs. These plans outline targeted supports that help students achieve sustainable success and well-being in the classroom.

Learning Support in the PYP

For Early Years and Primary Years students who require skill-building in reading or math, Soundview offers:

-Small-group instructional sessions during literacy or math blocks.

-Optional one-on-one sessions (fee-based) for more intensive support.

Skills Collaborative in the MYP

For middle school students with executive functioning needs, Soundview offers Skills Collaborative. This optional, fee-based program explicitly teaches essential executive functioning skills and provides ongoing support as students work to meet the rigorous standards of the International Baccalaureate.
