Dear Soundview family,
Welcome back from Midwinter Break! Whether your time away included travel, special outings, or simply a slower pace at home, I hope it offered moments of rest and renewal. It has been a joy to welcome students back to campus and feel the energy return to our classrooms and hallways. We closed the week with three wonderful events on Friday. One featuring our all-school assembly led by the Grade 3/4 classes, our monthly Community Coffee, and an Afternoon Orchestra Concert featuring our Grade 5 & 6 musicians, which was a celebration of growth and collaboration! You can view photos from the assembly and performance below.
Head of School Search Update
The search for Soundview School’s permanent Head of School is underway! An important step in this process is hearing from parents about your thoughts on the key attributes for our permanent Head of School. Please complete this short Soundview School Survey from our consultants at the Educators Collaborative and let us know your thoughts. It should only take 10-15 minutes.
Please note: The survey closes at 12pm on March 6th. We are currently exploring options for a virtual focus group for parents in the coming weeks if there is interest. Please stay tuned for details. Questions? Email Board President Shawn Heidel at shawnheidel@gmail.com or Joan Beauregard from the Educators Collaborative at jbeauregard@educatorscollaborative.com.

Community Projects
Grade 8 student, Sonya, is leading a supply drive next week from March 2-6 to support children with cancer by creating craft kits to help make hospital stays a little brighter. Her goal is to assemble 100 kits, and she needs our help! She is collecting items such as string, beads, bead charms, origami paper, chains, sequins, charms, pom-poms, and ribbon (new or gently used and in very good condition). Donation boxes will be located in the main hall near the office. Thank you for helping Sonya bring comfort and creativity to children who need it most.
Community Coffee

One more thing…
On February 27, 1922, the Supreme Court of the United States upheld women’s voting rights in Leser v. Garnett, affirming the constitutionality of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Court unanimously rejected arguments that the amendment had been improperly ratified, firmly establishing its legal standing.
This decision was historically significant because it protected the hard-won gains of the women’s suffrage movement and ensured that women’s right to vote could not be undermined by state-level challenges. By reinforcing the amendment’s legitimacy, the ruling strengthened women’s full participation in American democracy and marked a pivotal step toward greater gender equality under the law.
