Recognizing Our Diverse Community!

  • Ethnic Equality Month is celebrated in February every year. It is a period to recognize the similarities all people have, yet acknowledge, appreciate and respect the differences in all of us. So no matter what race you are, or what ethnicity you belong to, everyone is equal and deserves equal rights and equal opportunities. Ethnic Equality Month is a good time to reflect and challenge ourselves, as a group and individually. Learn more about this HERE.

  • March is Women’s History Month, which highlights contributions that women have made in history and in society. It is celebrated every March to correspond with International Women’s Day on March 8th. The first Women’s History Month was celebrated in 1987, and you can read more about this HERE.

  • Gender Equality Month is celebrated every year in March. The whole month is dedicated to celebrating the social, political, cultural, and academic achievements of women in the world. March is also important to raise awareness against gender bias in society. Read more about this HERE.

  • Saturday, March 1st, is Zero Discrimination Day. Zero Discrimination Day calls for the elimination of all discrimination. Its goal is to promote both inclusivity and equality across the world. First initiated by the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS to address the stigma and discrimination faced by people living with HIV/AIDS, this day encourages all people to take a stand against discrimination.
