Congratulations on an extraordinary school year!

Dear Soundview Family,

Congratulations on an extraordinary school year!

It is my great honor to serve as your head of school. This year’s graduating class has a combined total of 70 years of experience at Soundview. This week, it was a joy to reflect on the achievements of every single Soundview student, and that includes their academic growth, creative and artistic expression, and the deepening of relationships between students and their classmates as well as their teachers. Thank you all.

It was a tough year, but you all came through–students, parents, and faculty. Our academic standards were matched only by the growth of our community, and all this while we recovered socially, emotionally, and physically from the effects of a global pandemic. We’ve taken an ethical, rigorous, and compassionate approach, and that is what makes Soundview special. Thanks to our entire community.

Here is some information you will need about the transition to summer and the next school year:

  • Enroll for Soundview Summer Camp from June 26 through August 4. To register, click HERE.

  • Soundview administrative offices are open daily throughout the summer from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM except for: the Juneteenth holiday on Monday, June 19; Independence Day on July 3 and 4; and school cleaning and maintenance August 7 through 18.

  • Join our Soundview community at our Summer Social on Saturday, August 5, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lynndale Park, Shelter #2.

  • You can expect three communications from Soundview this summer: in early July, we will send a request for back-to-school family information; in mid-July, look for a summer update letter from me; and a mid-August letter from me with all the information you will need to be ready for the 2023-2024 school year.

  • Our Director of Enrollment Management, Victoria Nunes, is organizing carpool groups for next school year. If you are interested in using and/or providing carpooling for families near you, please fill out the form HERE.

  • You can also contact Victoria over the summer to get connected with classmates and schedule playdates, class outings, and other fun activities.

  • We will donate all unclaimed lost and found items next Friday, June 23. If you think you are missing an item, please stop by the office during business hours and we will help out.

  • Please let your friends know that we still have room in grades four through seven for next school year.

We will post a video of the graduation ceremony next week.

Enjoy your summer, it is well earned!

Chris
