National Teacher Appreciation Week!

Dear Soundview Family,

The end of the school year is fast approaching. We have a number of things to celebrate and share. Our Soundview Parent/Guardian Association is leading next week’s National Teacher Appreciation Week. Parents should already have the details about how to participate from their class captains. They shared the details with each class. Any questions can go to the class captains. Thank you to our teachers!

We continue to deal with COVID in our community. Thank you all for your continued support of the things that work: staying home when sick, testing and monitoring for symptoms, and masking when exposed.

This is also the time of the school year when we plan next year’s staffing. The following faculty and staff are leaving Soundview for next steps in their professional and personal lives. We announce faculty departures to students formally before our all school achievement ceremony the week of June 12.

Brenna Profit, Julia Horn, Richard Nelson, Sarah Lalonde, and Anna Unbedacht are moving on to the next steps in their careers. Lisa Hatfield is starting her retirement. We’ll have plenty of time in June to celebrate their service to Soundview. In true Soundview fashion, we’ll see them at future Soundview events. We’ve had an overwhelming response to open positions created by these transitions. We look forward to introducing new faculty and staff as soon as possible.

Our fifth grade band, orchestra, and sixth through eighth grade band performed yesterday at the Spring Concert. We will send you a link in the next few days.

Please watch your emails for next year’s calendar.

Thank you all for your support,

Chris
