Wrapping Up a Remarkable Year at Soundview!

Congratulations to our 2025 eighth-grade class, which had a combined total of 51 years of experience at Soundview!

Dear Soundview Families,

Congratulations on an extraordinary school year! I’m so proud of our school community. This week, we recognized each student’s progress in academics, the arts, and social development, and witnessed the stronger connections forming between students and their classmates and teachers. In particular, we celebrated the graduation of the Class of 2025 on Wednesday evening. Soundview graduation is a true reflection of the deep learning and strong relationships that make Soundview special. Thank you to our entire community for your partnership in raising ethical, rigorous, and compassionate students together. Our graduates are ready for the adventure that awaits!

The week has been filled with joy and celebration, starting with the 8th-grade "skip day" adventure to Bubble Planet and the 6th and 7th-grade outing at Lynndale Park. On Tuesday, our students led an exciting, spirited, and wet Field Day

We closed the school year with our Achievement Ceremony in the forest, honoring our Class Captains, IB award winners, Edmonds Arts Festival artists, and the yearbook cover contest winner. We reflected on the year's accomplishments in our Move-Up tradition, while our Early Childhood students placed lei on their 8th-grade learning buddies to wish them good luck. All was accompanied beautifully by our Soundview orchestra. The Achievement Ceremony is quintessential Soundview!

The end of the school year is also a time for goodbyes. Students and teachers wished friends and colleagues well on their journeys beyond Soundview. I want to extend a special thank you and appreciation to Ms. Alexandra and Ms. McKenna. I will miss their dedication to teaching and learning and the care and warmth they have brought to Soundview. I expect we will see them around campus in the future!
