Welcoming 2026 with Joy and Excitement!
Warm wishes to our amazing Soundview community as we welcome the New Year!
Dear Soundview family,
As we come to the close of another meaningful year, it’s a wonderful moment to pause and reflect on all that we’ve accomplished together. Over the past twelve months, our students, faculty, and families have continued to grow, learn, and support one another in ways that make Soundview such a special community. With the new year just ahead, we look forward with optimism and excitement to engaging learning, meaningful moments together, and opportunities to grow and connect as a community. On behalf of the entire Soundview team, I wish you a joyful, restful, and connection-filled New Year with those you hold dear.
Our Annual Campaign’s matching challenge is in its final stretch, and there is still time to take part. Thanks to the generosity of a group of Soundview grandparents, along with alumni parents and trustees Alison and Doug Suttles, gifts made through December 31 will be matched dollar for dollar once we reach $15,000. To date, we’ve raised $12,365 this month, and with your support, we can cross the finish line together.

Our community goal of $350,000 is ambitious, but achievable with collective participation. While gifts are welcome throughout the year, year-end giving provides a powerful opportunity to deepen your impact and take advantage of potential tax benefits. Your generosity helps ensure that every Soundview student continues to thrive.
If you missed our recent letter with important January reminders and opportunities, you can find it HERE. We’ll also be sharing a full January update in our Friday email on January 2.
Wishing you and your families a joyful close to 2025, and a bright beginning to 2026!
Warmly,
Chrissy Sinclair
Interim Head of School
One more thing…
On December 26, 1966, the first day of the very first Kwanzaa was celebrated in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of a new cultural holiday created by scholar and activist Maulana Karenga. Established during the Black Freedom Movement, Kwanzaa was designed to honor African heritage, strengthen community bonds, and celebrate shared values through its seven guiding principles. The inaugural celebration represented a powerful moment of cultural affirmation, offering African American families a way to reflect on history, unity, creativity, and collective responsibility, traditions that continue to be observed and celebrated around the world today.
