Weekly Family Bulletin: Stay Informed
Our Grade 1/2 classes had a wonderful time exploring Jubilee Farm this week, be sure to check out the photos from this fun and educational field trip!
Dear Soundview families,
It was a short week for students, as today was dedicated to faculty and staff professional development. We dedicated time to advancing our accreditation self-study with the Northwest Association of Independent Schools (NWAIS) under the leadership of Erin Armstrong. Additionally, our School Counselor and DEIB Coordinator, Travis Wood, led a powerful session with our team on perspective-taking and building an inclusive team story. Teachers also spent time collaborating on curriculum planning and instructional alignment. You can learn more about the benefits of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum HERE.
On Wednesday, our Grade 1/2 students visited Jubilee Farm to explore a working farm as part of their Farm to Fork unit. They harvested pumpkins straight from the vine, rode a hay wagon, and met the farm animals while learning about their roles in food production. The Grade 5 class took a field trip to the Edmonds Library on Thursday to deepen their study of Fairy Tales and Folklore, examining how these stories have evolved over time.
You can view highlights and photos from this week’s activities below.

Our Grade 5 class had a great time on their outing to the Edmonds Library!
Tomorrow, our Orchestra will hold its annual on-campus retreat, where students will practice and learn new pieces, connect, and enjoy fun team-building activities.
Finally, a quick weather reminder now that we are in the midst of fall. The forecast shows rain for the next full week. Please help your students come to school with proper shoes and clothing to help them stay dry. We’ll be outside rain or shine!
