GPSF Day was Filled With Joy, Connection & Belonging!
It was truly uplifting to see our students sharing meaningful moments with their grandparents and special friends. From hands-on activities and classroom projects to simple conversations and shared smiles, the campus was alive with joy, energy, and genuine connection. We invite you to relive the day’s highlights by exploring the photos below!
Dear Soundview family,
What an incredible day we had celebrating Grandparents and Special Friends Day (GPSF)! This beloved tradition once again filled our campus with warmth, connection, and joy. Thank you to all the grandparents and special friends who joined us; you helped make the day truly memorable. We are also deeply grateful to our faculty, staff, and volunteers, whose thoughtful planning brought this event to life. If you’d like to revisit the highlights, you can find photos below.
Throughout the day, many guests expressed their interest in staying connected with Soundview, whether to follow their grandchildren's learning or to explore opportunities to volunteer and support the school through our fundraising efforts. If you would like us to add a grandparent or special friend to our communication li st, please share their name, email, and mailing address HERE.
We are excited to welcome Atticus Halpern to Soundview as our new Office Manager! He will start on Monday, November 24. Atticus has experience working with children and families in healthcare, building relationships and helping them to manage complex and sometimes emotional situations. We are thrilled for him to bring his hardworking nature, attention to detail, and empathy to our community.
A quick reminder that there will be no school next week, November 25–29, in observance of Native American Heritage Month and Thanksgiving. I hope you enjoy a peaceful and restorative break with family and friends. Soundview offices will remain open Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm and will be closed from Wednesday through Friday. Classes resume on Monday, December 1.

A few key dates, events, and opportunities to keep in mind this month:
Soundview School Food Drive
We launched our schoolwide food drive this week in partnership with Lynnwood Food Bank to support local families in need, and the drive will go from now until Winter Break. The last day for collections will be on Thursday, December 18.
Your family can help by sending in donations to be collected in your child’s classroom. While all nonperishable items are appreciated, the Food Bank has shared that the following are most needed which you can view HERE.
Together, let’s make an impact in our neighbors' lives this season.
Soundview Human Rights Rally

One more thing…
On November 21, 1877, Thomas Edison unveiled the phonograph, the first device capable of both recording and playing back sound. This groundbreaking invention transformed the world of communication, entertainment, and technology, laying the foundation for everything from music recordings to modern audio devices. Edison’s phonograph marked the beginning of a new era, one where sound could be captured, preserved, and shared across time and place. He stumbled upon the device while working on a way to record telephone messages and famously recorded himself reciting "Mary Had a Little Lamb" on a tinfoil cylinder. Read more about this HERE.
