Outdoor School Adventures!

Dear Soundview Family,

Yesterday’s early childhood through second-grade Curriculum Night was another success. Thanks to all of you for joining us. Our students’ success is built on the foundation of our partnership with our families. Look for ongoing opportunities to engage with Soundview’s curriculum throughout the year. If you have any additional questions after attending Curriculum Night(s), or if you were unable to attend, please contact your student’s teacher directly.

Admissions season is here already. Soundview is now accepting applications for the 2024 / 2025 school year. Up to 90% of families who select a private school are referred by current families. If you know a family who would benefit from an ethical, rigorous, and compassionate education, please have them reach out to Soundview Director of Enrollment Management Victoria Nunes HERE.

The fall season is upon us, and the forecast calls for rain all of next week. Please be sure your students are coming to school with appropriate shoes and clothing to help them stay dry. We’re outside rain or shine!

Before and after school care and clubs have started! We still have limited availability. Explore the programs and register your child HERE.

Soundview clothing is still on sale and available for one more week. Be sure to order by September 29th. Clothing will be delivered to Soundview the week of October 13th! Find shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and more HERE.

Here are some important events coming up and currently taking place for people in the Soundview community and around the world:

  • Sunday, September 24th is Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. You can learn more about the history, significance, and celebration of Rosh Hashanah HERE.

  • Hispanic Heritage Month is currently taking place through October 15th. The observation started in 1968 with Hispanic Heritage week, then expanded to 30 days and was enacted into law in 1988. Learn more and access resources HERE.

Look for classroom resources and activities recognizing both events in your classroom’s Toddle pages.

Middle school students return from Mount Rainier Institute today. The trip was awesome. Students hiked many miles, measured the economic, ecologic, and cultural value of trees, and danced, and did the dishes.

Fifth graders will travel to Naturebridge starting next Wednesday, September 27th. All the relevant information for fifth grade is in Toddle.

Follow and visit Soundview on Facebook and Instagram to view photos from Mount Rainier, Naturebridge, and much more.

The school year is off to a great start,
Chris
