Dear Soundview families,

I hope you enjoyed a restful and joyful winter break filled with meaningful time together. As we welcome the new year, we’re excited to reconnect and re-energize our campus with the curiosity, creativity, and strong sense of community that define Soundview. The weeks ahead are filled with rich learning, thoughtful exploration, and opportunities for growth. We are grateful to partner with you as we continue supporting each student’s journey. I’m excited to see you all!

Admissions for the 2026–2027 school year are moving quickly, with applications from prospective new families due Friday, January 30. If you know a family seeking an ethical, rigorous, and compassionate education, please encourage them to connect with our Director of Enrollment Management, Jill Schaller.

Registration for Soundview’s Winter Care & Clubs is filling fast! These enriching programs provide wonderful opportunities for students to learn, grow, and have fun during the winter months. Space is limited, and we encourage families to register soon.

One more thing…
On January 2, 1991, Sharon Pratt Dixon made history when she was sworn in as the first African American woman to serve as mayor of Washington, D.C. Her election marked a powerful milestone in American political history, breaking barriers at the intersection of race and gender in one of the nation’s most prominent cities. Dixon’s leadership symbolized expanded representation in public office and inspired future generations of women and people of color to pursue civic leadership and public service.
