Recognizing Our Diverse Community

Hispanic Heritage Month takes place in September. This is a time to honor the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities. It is an opportunity to recognize the achievements of individuals who have shaped our society, celebrate diverse traditions, and inspire our students to embrace inclusion, empathy, and global awareness. At Soundview, we value this celebration as a chance to learn, reflect, and deepen our understanding of the vibrant communities that surround us. Learn more about this HERE.

Labor Day is an annual celebration of the social and economic achievements of American workers. It is celebrated to recognize the achievements of the labor movement in the late 19th Century when American workers began to form labor unions and advocate for better working conditions, reasonable hours and fair wages. The holiday recognizes when labor activists pushed for a federal holiday to recognize the many contributions workers have made to America’s strength, prosperity, and well-being.
