  • National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD), celebrated annually on the first Wednesday of February (Feb. 4, 2026), honors the achievements of female athletes, advocates for equality, and promotes the positive impact of sports participation. Founded in 1987, it commemorates Olympic volleyball player Flo Hyman and highlights continued progress for women in athletics.

  • World Cancer Day is an international day marked on 4th of February to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. World Cancer Day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the goals of the World Cancer Declaration, written in 2008. The primary goal of World Cancer Day is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer and is an opportunity to rally the international community to end the injustice of preventable suffering from cancer.   • National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD) is an annual, February 7th observance dedicated to increasing HIV education, testing, community involvement, and treatment within Black communities. It highlights the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS on Black people in the U.S. and works to reduce stigma, address structural barriers, and promote health equity. Read more HERE.
