Orchestra: Grades 4-8 (Grade 3 with permissions)

Every Friday from 3:30PM - 5:00PM; January 12th - June 13th

(No Orchestra on February 23rd, March 29th, April 5th & 19th ).

Extra practice schedules, recital days or additional opportunities will be communicated directly by Mrs. Higgins.

Open to registered Soundview students in Grades 4-8; special permission for Grade 3 students by permission from Mrs. Higgins. Additionally, course is open to public students not registered at Soundview by permission from Mrs. Higgins.

The Soundview Community Youth Orchestra is the place to build skills and create musical art on violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Our rehearsals develop playing technique, teach ensemble music making, and challenge the students with practice in sight reading. Students need to provide their own instrument. All other music materials provided.

Music instruction accelerates brain development in young children, particularly in the areas of the brain that are responsible for processing sound, language development, speech perception, and reading skills.
