Soundview's curriculum standard is much higher than at most schools. We incorporate the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program and Singapore math curriculum, so our students not only excel in reading, writing and math concepts, but also exploring, creating, making, thinking, discovering, and understanding big concepts. Children learn in a rigorous and enriched academic environment, where they also study visual art, music, drama, Spanish, and inquiry-based science several times a week. Soundview’s emphasis on the arts helps each child to develop high levels of self-expression and creativity.

Soundview School is fully authorized to teach the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). Soundview received authorization as an IB World School in 2009. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education—that Soundview believes is important for our students.

Soundview School is preparing to pursue authorization in the International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Programme (PYP). Once completed, Soundview would be the only independent IB school in Washington, Oregon or Alaska to offer both of these rigorous, internationally-known college preparatory programs.
