Educational Resource Bureau Comprehensive Testing

Dear Soundview Families,

After a successful inaugural year, we are continuing with administering the Educational Records Bureau's (ERB's) Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP).

Soundview School assess students on a daily basis, in a variety of ways, from informal check-ins and observations to formal tests, papers, projects, and presentations. As an IB World School, our assessments meet and exceed our state and national standards. The IB organization's school evaluation cycle adds even more accountability. We send our work to them to ensure our assessment is standardized against schools all over the world.

This test is another data point in this broad assessment ecosystem. The ERB is benchmarked against individual schools, and last year we found ourselves exceeding scores at other, similar schools. Students are tested in aspects of reading, writing, and math.

As with last year, the 2nd, 5th, and 7th graders will be taking the test. We will be testing in the mornings, between 9am and noon, Monday May 6th through Thursday May 9th.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Matt Stenovec at mstenovec@soundview.org.
