For most of us, our window into the school is through our children’s classroom, teachers, daily homework, or activities. Perhaps, we’ve done some volunteering, joined a field trip or summer work party, or attended an event. There’s so much more to an independent school like Soundview that our Board wants to share.
Soundview is self-governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. They have legal and financial responsibility for our school. They have one employee, the Head of School, to run the operations of the school. Once a year, we have an opportunity to formally connect and hear from the Board. Next Tuesday is that time! Mark your calendars and plan to attend.
We’ll have some pizza and time for mingling and brainstorming about some big Soundview ideas and questions. We’ll hear from each trustee and Board committee about their current priorities. You’ll probably recognize some of your friends that you may or may not have known are current Soundview trustees.
I will highlight the accomplishments of our faculty, staff, and students. I will also review the current strategic plan, which is coming to an end. And the Board will set the stage for your involvement in our next strategic planning process.
It’s a great opportunity to see Soundview beyond the school day. And your involvement is critical for more great thinking about Soundview’s future.
Playschool is available from 7-9pm. RSVP with Molly at email@example.com.
