Run, Jump, Climb!

The goal is to challenge ourselves by choice and it’s up to each individual to keep an open mind and to try new things.

The Primary Pod is in full swing, both literally and figuratively. We have been exploring different ways we can be healthy, and in PE our focus is on movement.

We began our study of health by learning about how our hearts pump oxygen to our brains and muscles to keep them healthy. We discovered that when we move our bodies our hearts start beating faster, so when we move, we are also giving our heart a workout.

This week is all about obstacle courses that get our bodies to move in different ways. We had to run, jump, balance, swing, climb, and more to make it through all the elements of the

In addition to moving our bodies, we have been learning how to be a kind and respectful classmate. We are focusing on managing our own bodies and recognizing we all need different things, so it’s okay if someone does something in another way. The goal is to challenge ourselves by choice and it’s up to each individual to keep an open mind and to try new things.

As we move into the holiday season, I encourage all families to think of ways to keep active. Even just thirty minutes a day will make a big difference, and it sets a great example for your child’s developing mind and body.
