Primary Ponderings

Energy is high as we get closer to Halloween!  It has been such fun to hear about all the exciting weekends you have been having this fall.  The Weekend News is full of awesome adventures! We hope that some of our classroom news is making it home to you, as well.  Did you hear that our Read to Self stamina was more than 18 minutes last week!?!? We’re putting that stamina to work as we resume our Literacy rotations.  Your child is practicing their independence as they rotate through Read to Self, Read to Someone, Work on Writing, Listen to Reading, Wonderful Words, and Guided Reading.

During Unit time, we are continuing to dig into our study on Friendship Exploration.  Today we read Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud.  After our reading, your child was a part of a whole group brainstorm session on ways we can fill the buckets of others.

Ask me about…

  • different ways I can fill the buckets of others,

  • what it means to “fill someone’s bucket,” and

  • the book order and Winter Activities papers in my backpack.
