Primary Ponderings

Today your child took their learning of the three ways to read, as well as their knowledge of how to pick good fit books, and practiced building STAMINA during Read to Self.  We were able to hold our focus and read for just over 3 minutes! We are so excited to build our stamina!

During Unit of Inquiry time, your child had an opportunity to share their wonderings about toys and add a BURNING QUESTION to the Wonder Wall.  Your child is invited to bring one toy to share with the class this week. We will take a picture of them with their toy and add it to the timeline that we will begin creating.  They will be taking their toy home after they share.

Next Thursday, between 10:15 - 3:15, we will be attending our first field trip.  The class will be visiting the Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett to explore a wider variety of toys and games.  We need a few parent drivers to help us get the entire class over to the museum and be a small group leader through the adventure.  The sign up sheet is posted outside the Otter Room door on the Info board. If you can’t come in to sign up, feel free to email us with your interest and how many kiddos you can fit in your vehicle.  Drivers, please check in with the office to ensure your volunteer paperwork is up to date.

Ask me about…

  • my job as an independent reader during Read to Self,

  • what toy I want to share with the class, and

  • questions I have about toys.
