Slowing Down

In the Early Childhood classroom we play to learn. At the beginning of the year, a lot of that play is loud, busy and boisterous. As we learn how to share a space and move our bodies in that space, teachers encourage children to slow down and really look at things, ask questions, investigate and reflect. This is a hard concept at an early age (even as adults),but one that is important as we connect with the things and people around us. We encourage you to take a breath and really listen and look with your children. You may notice something you had never considered, or an old memory may arise that you can use to help your child deepen their understanding of their world. Have a great rest of the week!
