This week we began looking at the life cycle of plants! When we spoke to the children about plants, and what plants need to grow, we quickly learned soil is an important component. After a group discussion we concluded soil is made from dirt, rocks, sand, wood, and even worm waste! Next, we decided to start the life cycle by planting seeds. The children could choose to plant tomatoes, spinach, iceberg lettuce, or a lettuce mix. We cut open an egg container, and each child got a chance to plant their seeds into the soil!
