One of our favorite things to play with in our classroom are tubes. Proving that you don’t need a material to be fancy or expensive to be very intriguing. In fact we purposefully reuse ordinary materials, that may have had a previous life, in various ways in our classroom. This week these large cardboard tubes were added to our construction area. These tubes happened to come from a shipping box. It is so fun to see what the children will come up with. Open ended items are the most popular a they can become anything with a child’s imagination. Building them tall was very popular, but some children also began making structures with the sturdy tubes. We are excited to see what possibilities will come from them next week.
