Birthdays are always fun to celebrate in our classroom, and today was no exception! Henry turned 5 today! We all made him a card, sang to him and of course, completed his birthday interview. While we do not eat treats as part of our celebration, children look forward to hearing the answer to the “birthday question” they thought of, and it is fun to see kids include those details on the birthday cards. For example, we now know that Henry’s favorite colors are red and purple, he likes chocolate and ice cream, and his favorite movie is Incredibles II. Having the focus be learning about the child on their special day, is great for building community.
