Symbols Everywhere!

We had a great discussion today about symbols. The children came up with a lot of places in the world that they have seen symbols. Buttons in elevators and airports were brought up...which led us to “arrows.”  Omar said that “Anything could be a symbol.” I tested this theory and asked about a tree, “Could a tree be a symbol?” Henry responded with, “Yes! It could mean park!” We will continue our discussion about various pictures that can “mean something,” as we work in our first unit.

Here are your conversation starters for today:

“Ask Me About”

  • What symbols did you see in the symbol hunt today? Where did you see these symbols?

  • What did you like about Spanish today?

  • Did you do a collage today? What did you make?
