At Soundview, Spanish is designed for improving oral, writing and speaking skills. Students from preschool through 8th grade learn basic reading and writing in Spanish and strengthen their fluency, grammar and conversations as they build on each school year. They read, listen, write and sing songs. Students learn and review Spanish vocabulary in numerous categories:

Themes in Spanish culture also represent an important part of the curriculum. Students learn about which countries speak Spanish, and their capitals. They are immersed in the culture of Mexico and Latin America through studies of people, food and song. Here are just a few examples:
