The second Claymation Film Festival is Jan 25th, 2012.
Here is what happened last school year.
On December 16, 2010, Soundview hosted its first Claymation Film Festival. During the fall trimester, Soundview 4th through 8th grade students worked on special claymation projects with Lukas Allenbaugh, who designed and runs the Clay Animation Network. The students worked in teams to compose stories, construct sets and characters out of clay, operate a digital camera and add sound.
The program has been integrated into the curriculum. As students worked through clay animation, students learned basic principles in physics, math, language arts, fine art and music:
Physics principles (momentum, acceleration, friction, collision)
Math (measurement, fractions, timing, patterns, cycles)
Language arts (storyboarding, story structure)
Fine art (sculpture, composition, color theory)
Music (composition and voice-overs)
The 4th through 8th graders were proud to present
their final claymation projects at Soundview's first
Claymation Film Festival in our Performing Arts Center.

It was created with over 9,000 photographs
Took 11 weeks to create
Is on the theme of sustainability
All stories are created and animated by the students
We hope you enjoy their wonderful work!
