Inae Piercy - Head of School
M.S. Computer Science Engineering, B.S. Nuclear Medicine
Mrs. Piercy and her husband founded Soundview School in 1996. Their goal was to provide a non-traditional, progressive education to their own children and to serve the needs of children with intellectual and creative promise. Mrs. Piercy has built Soundview with her vision and passion for education. Soundview is now one of the leading progressive educational institutes in our area. Soundview students receive the education that prepares them for the rapidly-changing, global world. With her vision, Soundview is now an authorized International Baccalaureate World School.
Mrs. Piercy brings real-world working experience to Soundview. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Nuclear Medicine from Seattle University, as well as a Masters of Science in Computer Science Engineering from San Jose State University. She has had two full careers working in the field of nuclear medicine, and working as a software engineer for two advanced technology corporations, Hewlett Packard and Novell.
Chris Watson – Head of Middle School, 7th Grade Humanities
B.A. English, M.Ed. Private School Leadership
Mr. Watson is an educator whose love for teaching and learning has grown more over the years. He received his Teaching Certificate and Bachelor’s Degree in English and History from Central Washington University. His Professional Certificate is from Pacific Lutheran University. Mr. Watson received his M.Ed. in Private School Leadership from HAIS/University of Hawaii. He was most recently a Freshman English Sub-Department Head and coached the debate team.
Valerie Stein – PYP Coordinator & Library Media Specialist
B.A. Liberal Studies, Library Technician Certificate
Mrs. Stein received her B.A. degree in Liberal Studies from Oregon State University and holds a Library Technician Certificate from Highline Community College. In addition, she has studied and taught fiber arts and holds certificates in Design, Embroidery and Weaving from the City and Guilds of London. She has taught weaving in continuing education programs at Oregon State as well as North Seattle and Edmonds Community Colleges. Mrs. Stein worked for several years as an educational assistant at the elementary level in the Everett school district where her focus was on reading, language arts and math, doing both individual and small group tutoring, as well as coordinating services for ESL students and their families. She will have added responsibility as a PYP (Primary Years Program) coordinator on top of her library duties. Her daughter is a Soundview graduate. Mrs. Stein is entering her 10th year at Soundview.
Tim Cole – Dean of Students, Athletic Director, Summer Camp Director, PE
B.A. Elementary Education
Mr. Cole graduated from Cedarville University with a BA in Elementary Education. He spent one year teaching English overseas in Seoul, Korea. He also taught 5th grade for two years at Kent View Elementary and formerly taught the Robot Workshop Camp during the summer at the Pacific Science Center. He has five years coaching experience including 2 years high school and 3 years at the collegiate level. He is a USATF level one certified track coach and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Mr. Cole brings a creative PE curriculum to Soundview. He is also a Positive Discipline coordinator as well as the Summer Camp Director.
Hazel Sapida – Administrative Operations Manager
B.A. Business Administration
Ms. Sapida graduated from Seattle Pacific University in June 2008 and joined Soundview the following September. She enjoyed working in teams through playing competitive soccer, tennis and other sports, as well as managing several food-service operations throughout high school and college. Ms. Sapida oversees the different administrative functions and day-to-day business operations, takes care of coordinating communication regarding school events and parent volunteers, and supports the rest of the administration and faculty.
Alan Piercy - Technology Director
M.S. Computer Science Engineering, B.A. Geology
Trained as an engineer and scientist, Mr. Piercy worked for twenty years developing software for Hewlett Packard, Novell, Intermec, WRQ and several other high tech companies. He earned a Masters in Computer Science Engineering from San Jose State University and a Bachelors in Geology from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Mr. Piercy designs and builds Soundview's technology infrastructure. He teaches computer science classes and runs the after-school computer club.
Lorie Gail - Business Manager
B.S. Accounting, Certified Management Accountant
Ms. Gail earned her degree in Accounting from Central Washington University while working part time and raising two children. Her accounting specialty is in setting up and maintaining accounting systems and has been working at Soundview since 1999. She is an avid cyclist and walker and has completed such events as Seattle to Portland (STP), Ride Around Washington (RAW), and the Three-Day Breast Cancer Walk.
Chrissy Sinclair – Admissions Committee Coordinator, 1st Grade
B.A. Government, M.Ed.
Mrs. Sinclair received her B.A. in Government from Colby College in Waterville, ME. She also received her M.Ed. from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She has taught 2nd grade since 2004, headed a new department to integrate technology into the academic curriculum, and assisted with 1st through 5th grade. Ms. Sinclair has led a rock-climbing club, coached field hockey & lacrosse, and enjoys sailing, traveling, rock climbing, hockey, reading, and several other outdoor activities.
Anne Bleeker – Community Relations
B.A. Economics and Business
Ms. Bleeker earned her B.A. from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Early in her career, she was a branch manager in one of the first in-store banks in Tennessee. She also worked in retail management and commercial credit and collections before taking time off to be a stay at home mother. Anne enjoys traveling, sewing and spending time with her family. Anne and her family joined the Soundview community in 2004.
Jessica Burns – Public Relations/Marketing Specialist
B.A.Public Relations, minor in Political Science. M.A Psychology
Ms. Burns has worked as a reporter for several publications including the Corvallis Gazette-Times, Willamette Week, Tri-Cities Area Journal of Business, Portland Business Journal, Vancouver Business Journal, and Gresham Outlook. She has also worked as a PR/Marketing director at Bradshaw Advertising and Clear Channel Outdoor for many years.
Bill Good – Facilities Manager
B.A. Ed., Associate Data Processing, MBA Information Systems
Mr. Good studied at Central Washington University, Clover Park Voc-Tech, and City University. He is a certified teacher who has taught many years in elementary and middle schools. He worked at several high-profile local corporations and co-managed his own high-tech placement firm. He also substituted for preschool through twelfth grade. His interest in facilities management began as a teenager; his father was a Property Manager and sent him and his brother to repair and manage rentals. Mr. Good is a true Renaissance Man who has ample knowledge about many subjects and areas.
