Originally founded as The Stein School in 1969, Soundview began when Inae and Alan Piercy expanded its core philosophies through the middle school grades in 1996.

Focused on the belief that highly capable children deserve a strong academic and artistically-engaging environment that celebrates creative strengths, we relocated from Edmonds to a wooded Lynnwood site the following year and set about creating a community-based campus, anchored by a new Performing Arts Center for class plays, recitals, presentations and meetings.

Throughout the years we have actively sought ways of enriching the Soundview experience, and with the expansion of our grounds in 2001 to include a spacious middle school and playfield, we continue the pursuit of our founding beliefs today.

Our Mission...

Soundview School educates intellectually motivated students to become knowledgeable, compassionate and ethical citizens and leaders.

We cultivate international-mindedness, creativity and passion for learning through inquiry, integrated projects, and meaningful assessment in academics, the arts, service and self-expression.

We embrace diversity and work to build our school and local communities around reflection, caring, respect and trust.
