Join Soundview Librarian Mrs. Stein and the students each week from November to April, as they tally the birds who use our designated watch area in the woods behind the playground. Scientists use this data from citizens in the US and Canada to track migration patterns, irruptions of new species, and the effects of natural disasters and changes in habitat on bird and other animal populations. The science our group is doing out there has very real-life application, and directly benefits environmental efforts worldwide.
